Workers allege construction companies failed to pay overtime

HOUSTON — Three employees have sued a group of construction companies, alleging failure to pay overtime.

Leandro Sanchez, Eliseo Valencia, and Fatuel Sanchez filed a lawsuit, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated, April 15 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Zavalas Roofing and Sheet Metal Company SLM, Construction Services LLC, Exterior Architectural Systems LLC and Jim R. Wimberley, alleging violation of the the Fair Labor Standards Act in not compensating employees fairly.

According to the complaint, between 2005 and 2015, Leandro Sanchez, Valencia and Fatuel Sanchez often worked more than 40 hours per week but were not paid any overtime. The plaintiffs allege the defendants were in violation of federal law in failing to pay overtime wages.

The plaintiffs seek a trial by jury, all unpaid overtime wages, liquidated damages equal to the unpaid wages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief the court deems just. They are represented by attorneys Josef F. Buenker and Vijay A. Pattisapu of Buenker Law in Houston.
