Louisiana motorist blames Beaumont company, driver for causing crash

BEAUMONT — A Louisiana motorist is suing a Beaumont company and one its drivers, alleging their negligence caused injuries to the plaintiff.

Roy Bonner II of Houma, Louisiana, filed a lawsuit March 28 in Jefferson County District Court against Corey Nichols of Hillister and S.I. Parker Management LLC, alleging negligence in failing to to properly control a vehicle.

According to the complaint, on March 31, 2014, Bonner suffered injuries as a result of an accident caused by Nichols. The suit says Nichols, who was driving as an employee for S.I. Parker, failed to yield right of way, causing his vehicle to collide with plaintiff's vehicle near the intersection of U.S. Highway 287 and FM 256 in Tyler County.

The lawsuit states the plaintiff sustained pain and suffering from permanent injuries, disfigurement, mental anguish and medical expenses. 

Bonner seeks a trial by jury, all medical expenses, monetary relief between $200,000 and $1 million, all damages plus interest at the maximum legal rate, all legal fees and any other relief the court deems just. He is represented by attorneys Zona Jones of Provost Umphrey Law Firm LLP in Beaumont, and Andrew Tuegel and Bryan Harrison of Harrison Davis Steakley Morrison PC in Waco.
