Fort Bend County man accuses Houston restaurant of failing to pay overtime

Late 06

HOUSTON — An employee is suing a Houston restaurant, alleging failure to pay overtime.

Brian Ho of Fort Bend County filed a lawsuit May 17 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Trong Nguyen, doing business as Crawfish and Noodles, alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act in failing to to fairly compensate employees.

According to the complaint, Ho worked as a waiter for more than 40 hours per work week without being paid overtime wages. The plaintiff alleges Crawfish and Noodles failed to pay overtime to employees at the FLSA rate of 1 1/2 per hour and required Ho to split tips with other employees.

Ho seeks a trial by jury, overtime compensation, all unpaid wages, liquidated damages, all legal fees and any other relief the court deems just. He is represented by attorney Chukwudi Egbuonu of Law Offices of Chukwudi Egbuonu in Houston.
