Logistics manager alleges technology company failed to pay overtime

Law money 03

GALVESTON — A Brazoria County logistics manager is suing a technology business, alleging unpaid wages and violation of workers compensation acts.

Gene King filed a class action lawsuit, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated, June 30 in Galveston County District Court against Syncreon Technology (USA) LLC, alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, during King's employment with Synceron from August 2012 to August 2015, he regularly worked more than 40 hours per week without receiving proper overtime compensation. The plaintiff alleges the defendant employed him for a workweek longer than 40 hours but refused to compensate him properly at a rate not less than one and one-half times his regular hourly rate and failed to maintain accurate time and pay records.

King seeks a trial by jury, an order allowing this filing to proceed as a collective action, all unpaid overtime compensation, liquidated damages, attorney fees and legal costs, pre- post-judgment interest and all other relief to which he is justly entitled. He is represented by attorney Melissa Moore of Moore & Associates in Houston.
