BEAUMONT – Two men have filed suit against their former employer alleging they were not paid overtime.

Sedrick Demond Stallworth and Akeem Scott filed a complaint on July 20 in the Beaumont Division of the Eastern District of Texas against Bechtel Corp. alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that they were not paid overtime premiums for the time they worked over 40 hours per week or for time considered by law to be compensable, such as waiting periods. The plaintiffs holds Bechtel Corp. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay them for time spent in employment and failed to keep adequate records of hours worked.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against defendant for all damages, attorney’s fees, costs and for such other and further relief as to which they may show themselves to be justly entitled. They are represented by John Werner and Mark Frasher of Reaud, Morgan & Quinn LLP in Beaumont.
