BEAUMONT – A Port Arthur man alleges he was injured due to a fall from a broken chair and was again injured when the ambulance transporting him for medical treatment was involved in an accident.

Nathaniel Harmon Jr. filed a complaint in Jefferson County District Court against Industrial Safety Training Council and Angela W. Howard alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Feb. 13, 2015, he was injured on Industrial Safety Training Council's premises when the wheels of the chair he was sitting on broke and caused him to fall. While being transported in an ambulance, the suit states Howard caused the ambulance to strike her vehicle. As a result of this incident, the plaintiff alleges he suffered further injuries.

The plaintiff holds Industrial Safety Training Council and Howard responsible because defendant Industrial Safety Training Council allegedly failed to properly maintain its premises and defendant Howard failed to yield right of way and failed to keep proper lookout.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendants for monetary relief of more than $200,000 but not more than $1 million, plus pre- and post-judgment interest, costs of suit and any other relief to which he is justly entitled. He is represented by Wesley Gould of Ben Abbott & Associates PLLC in Garland.
