Machine operator alleges drilling company failed to pay proper overtime

Late 02

HOUSTON — A Rusk man is suing a Katy drilling business, alleging violation of workers compensation acts by not paying overtime wages.

Steven Brown filed a class action lawsuit, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated, Aug. 8 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Titan Directional Drilling LLC, alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, Brown was scheduled to work 12-hour shifts for weeks at a time but he never received overtime payment for working more than 40 hours in a single week. The plaintiff alleges Titan Directional Drilling failed to pay wages and overtime compensation at the time and half rates required by the FLSA.

Brown seeks a trial by jury, unpaid back wages due, legal costs, attorney fees, pre- and post-judgment interest and such all relief as is necessary. He is represented by attorneys Michael A. Josephson, Andrew Dunlap, Lindsay R. Itkin and Jessica M. Bresler of Fibich, Hampton, Leebron, Briggs & Josephson LLP in Houston and by Richard J. (Rex) Burch of Bruckner Burch PLLC in Houston.
