Port Arthur woman blames employer for injuries

BEAUMONT — A Port Arthur woman is suing her employer, alleging its negligence caused her to suffer injuries.

Alisia Pitre filed a lawsuit Aug. 10 in Jefferson County District Court against Bottling Group LLC, Teddy Terry Hall of Humble and Judice's French Markets Inc., alleging negligence in failing to provide a safe place to work.

According to the complaint, on Aug. 14,  Pitre was working at Judice's French Market. when Hall, an employee of Bottling Group, negligently spilled soda on Judice's tile floor. The suit says the spill caused Pitre, who did not see the spill, to slip and fall, striking her head and back violently.

The lawsuit states Pitre suffered pain, mental anguish, loss wages disfigurement and medical expenses. The plaintiff alleges Judice's French Market failed to maintain the premises in a safe condition and Hall negligently created the dangerous condition.

Pitre seeks trial by jury, monetary between $200,000 and $1 million, plus pre-and post- judgment interest, costs of court and all other relief to which she is entitled. She is represented by attorneys R. Todd Elias and Jeff R. Seely of Gordon, Elias & Seely LLP in Houston.
