Cabin builder alleges customer owes more than $13,000

GALVESTON — A cabin builder is suing a Texas customer, alleging he owes more than $13,000. 

Graceland Properties LLC filed a lawsuit Aug. 16 in Galveston County District Court against Chris Hallett of Santa Fe, Texas, alleging failure to comply with the lease-to-own agreement.

According to the complaint, on May 31, 2014, Graceland entered into a 60-month lease-to-own sale with Hallett. whereby the plaintiff provided a 16-foot by 24-foot cabin to the defendant for $20,227.20, to be paid in 60 monthly installments of $337.12. 

The suit says $13,242.69 remains due and outstanding. The plaintiff alleges Hallett has failed and refused to pay the required payments under the agreement.

Graceland Properties seeks a trial by jury, judgment $13,242.69, plus pre- and post-judgment interest, attorney fees and all relief to which it is justly entitled. It is represented by attorneys Mark W. Stout and Matthew B. Fro of Padfield & Stout LLP in Forth Worth.
