Port Arthur retail business owner alleges employee owes $42,000

BEAUMONT — A Port Arthur retail business owner is suing an employee, alleging he owes more than $42,000.

Farid Foods Inc. filed a lawsuit Sept. 1 in Jefferson County District Court against Maher Ibrahim,  alleging the defendant illegally converted property belonging to plaintiff.

According to the complaint, Farid Foods has been damaged in the amount of $42,161.80 because Maher Ibrahim intentionally appropriated and converted cash belonging to the plaintiff for his own use and without the plaintiff's consent.

Farid Foods seeks trial by jury, compensation for damages of $42,161.80, plus exemplary damages, pre-judgment interest, costs of court and all other relief to which it is entitled. It is represented by attorney Nathan Reynolds Jr. of Port Arthur.
