BEAUMONT — A Beaumont man is suing a Stop N Go, alleging the defendant's negligence resulted in the plaintiff getting shot.

Asutosh T. Jariwala filed a lawsuit Sept. 15 in Jefferson County District Court against Naeem Group Enterprises Inc., also known as a Stop N Go  No. 2, alleging failure to provide a safe workplace.

According to the complaint, on April 19, while in the course of his employment with Stop N Go, Jariwala was injured when shot during a robbery. As a result of his injury, which is permanent in nature, the suit says, Jariwala will continue to suffer great physical and mental pain, plus expenses for his medical care and attention.

The plaintiff alleges Stop N Go failed to install protective glass and a protective cage system to prevent such injuries.

Jariwala seeks trial by jury, judgment in excess of the minimum jurisdictional limits of the court, pre- and post-judgment interest, costs of suit and all other relief. He is represented by attorneys Richard G. Lewis of Boneau & Lewis PLLC in Port Arthur and by Tommy L. Yeates of Moore, Landrey LLP in Beaumont.
