HOUSTON — A Fort Bend County woman is suing her former employer, alleging age discrimination and violation of workers compensation acts.

Beverly Wilson filed a lawsuit Sept. 23 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Hudson Products Corporation alleging violation of the Age Discrimination in Employment Act and the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, Wilson, who began working for Hudson Products' predecessor in 1991, was subjected to disparate treatment in terms and conditions of employment and was not properly compensated for all hours she worked during the time she was non-exempt.

The plaintiff alleges Hudson Products intentionally discriminated against her, failed to pay her the statutory rate of one and one-half times her regular rate for all hours worked more than 40 per week as required by FLSA, and terminated her employment, Aug, 27, 2014, to replace her with a younger employee.

Wilson seeks trial by jury, monetary judgment, double liquidated damages, back pay, including benefits, reinstatement or front pay and all further relief. She is represented by attorneys Ashok Bail and Ian Scharfman of The Scharfman Law Firm PLLC in Houston.
