GALVESTON — A Galveston County woman is suing operators of a San Leon restaurant, alleging their negligence resulted in injuries to the plaintiff.

Brandy M. McFadden of San Leon filed a lawsuit Oct. 3 in Galveston County District Court against San Leon Ventures LLC and Matthew Wiggins Jr., alleging failure to provide a reasonably safe place to work.

According to the complaint, on March 28, McFadden was preparing food at the defendants' restaurant, Bubba's Shrimp Palace in San Leon, when she slipped and fell to the floor due to the food that had been previously spilled. The fall caused McFadden to sustain a fractured wrist and injuries to her body, the suit says, plus physical impairment, medical expenses and loss of earning capacity.

The plaintiff alleges the defendant failed to properly supervise the activities of their employees who had spilled the food, failed to implement safety regulations and failed to properly train their employees in the safe means of restaurant operations.

McFadden seeks trial by jury, monetary relief between $200,000 and $1 million with interest, plus all further relief to which she is justly entitled. She is represented by attorney Lynn A. Grisham of Waltman & Grisham in Bryan.
