Slip01

BEAUMONT — A Jefferson County woman is suing a Groves nursing home facility, alleging the defendant's negligence led to injuries for the plaintiff.

Saluta Dinkin filed a lawsuit Sept. 29 in Jefferson County District Court against Cantex Continuing Care Network LLC, doing business as Magnolia Manor, alleging failure to properly maintain its premises.

According to the complaint, on Aug. 15, 2015, Dinkin was at Magnolia Manor when she tripped and fell on the curb in the parking lot. The suit says the fall caused Dinkin to suffer injuries to her body that led to physical impairment and medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges Magnolia Manor failed to provide adequate lighting in the parking lot, failed to discover the dangerous condition and failed to eliminate the dangerous condition.

Dinkin seeks trial by jury, monetary relief between $200,000 and $1 million, pre- and post-judgment interest, court costs and all other relief. She is represented by attorney Taylor W. Miller of Reaud, Morgan & Quinn LLP in Beaumont.
