Continued: JC trial of $1M auto collision suit

Car accident 08

BEAUMONT - A lawsuit alleging a passenger was injured in a vehicle collision was slated for trial this month but has been continued until next month.

Seeking between $200,000 and $1 million in damages, Yessika Sanchez filed a lawsuit against Kristin Braye on April 28, 2014, in Jefferson County District Court.

The case was set to go to trial on Nov. 7 but was continued until Dec. 5, according to a courthouse official.

The complaint states Sanchez was injured in a vehicle collision due to Braye's negligence.

The plaintiff alleges the defendant committed numerous wrongful acts, including but not limited to, failing to keep a lookout and traveling at a faster rate of speed than reasonable.

Judge Donald Floyd, 172nd District Court, is presiding over the case.
