GALVESTON – A shopper alleges she was injured by a sign in a Galveston store.

Michelle Lamb filed a complaint on Oct. 13 in Galveston County District Court against Specialty Retailers Inc., doing business as Palais Royal, and Specialty Retailers TX LLC alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 17, 2015, she was shopping inside defendants' Palais Royal retail store in Galveston when a placard fell on her wrist, causing her to sustain mental and physical injuries that resulted in pain and suffering, mental anguish, medical expenses and lost wages.

The plaintiff holds Specialty Retailers Inc. and Specialty Retailers TX LLC responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to make the dangerous condition reasonably safe and failed to warn her of the condition.

The plaintiff seeks pre- and post-judgment interest, cost of court, and such other relief to which she may show herself justly entitled. She is represented by Darrell A. Apffel, Lauren F. Arisco and D. Blake Apffel of Apffel Legal PLLC in League City.
