Law money 07

HOUSTON – A Kingswood man employed as a help desk technician has filed a class-action lawsuit against a Houston employer over allegations that he was not adequately paid for overtime.

Ken Hugdahl filed a complaint on behalf of all others similarly situated on Oct. 17 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Aldridge IT Services LLC alleging that the IT outsourcing provider violated the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he regularly worked overtime but was not paid the appropriate premium for his overtime work. The plaintiff holds Aldridge IT Services LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to compensate him at a rate not less than one-and-one-half times his regular rate of pay for each hour worked in excess of 40 per workweek.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks an order declaring this action is properly maintained as a class action, certifying plaintiff and his counsel as class representatives, award for compensatory damages, attorneys’ fees and litigation expenses and such other proper relief. He is represented by Thomas H. Padgett Jr. of Ross Law Group in Bellaire and Charles L. Scalise and Daniel B. Ross of Ross Law Group in Austin.
