HOUSTON – A Harris County woman is suing the Costco Wholesale Corp. after allegedly suffering food poisoning last April.

In a lawsuit filed against the Washington State-based warehouse club in the Harris County 129th District Court on Nov. 18, Parvin Darabzadeh claims that she fell ill from eating Kirkland’s Signature organic chicken breast she purchased at a Costco located at 3836 Richmond Ave. in Houston.

The store’s manager, Matthew Bennett, is a co-defendant in the case.

Court papers show that physicians at Memorial Heights Emergency Center diagnosed her with food poisoning and gave her antibiotics to fight the bacteria, asserting that the plaintiff battled pain, nausea, and vomiting for more than a month.

Darabzadeh adds that she was hospitalized once more.

Consequently, the complainant seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

She is represented by attorneys Jason A. Gibson and Casey L. Jordan of The Gibson Law Firm in Houston.
