HOUSTON — A Houston man of Vietnamese descent is suing a Houston business, alleging age discrimination, racial discrimination and retaliation.

Hung Nguyen filed a lawsuit Nov. 9 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Ellwood Texas Forge Houston LP, doing business as Ellwood Texas Forge Houston, alleging violation of the Age Discrimination in Employment Act.

According to the complaint, on Nov. 21, 2013, Nguyen was terminated from his employment at Ellwood Texas Forge as a computer numerator. As a result of the defendant's unlawful acts, the suit says, Nguyen has suffered economic damages, extreme emotional distress and humiliation.

The plaintiff alleges the defendant subjected him to constant harassment, discrimination and disparate treatment in comparison to workers of other races or who were younger.

Nguyen seeks trial by jury, economic damages of not less than $200,000, non-economic damages not less than $50,000, punitive damages, attorney fees, disbursements, court cost and all other relief the court deems just. He is represented by attorneys Henna Ghafoor and Brian T. Nguyen of Nguyen and Chen LLP in Houston.
