The plaintiff Nichia has pursued legal action in response to alleged infringement of United States Patent Number 9,490,411.

The ‘411 patent, entitled “Light Emitting Device, Resin Package, Resin-Molded Body, and Methods for Manufacturing Light-Emitting Device, Resin Package and Resin-Molded Body,” was issued on Nov. 8, 2016.

Hirofumi Ichikawa, Masaki Hayashi, Shimpei Sasaoka, and Tomohide Miki are the patent’s purported owners.

Nichia seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

Attorney Otis Carroll of the law firm Ireland Carroll & Kelley in Tyler is representing the complainant.

McKinney-based Mod Stack is the plaintiff.

It asserts ownership of U.S. Patent No. 7,460,520, claiming the patent was infringed upon.

Recent court papers show that the ‘520 patent, entitled “Apparatus and Method for Using Multiple Call Controllers of Voice-Band Calls,” was issued on Dec. 2, 2008. They add that the ‘520 patent “is generally directed to systems for supporting multiple central controllers of voice-band calls.”

Mod Stock seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.
