HOUSTON – A Matagorda County woman whose daughter was allegedly murdered at a Katy residence late last year has filed a wrongful death lawsuit, recent Harris County District Court records show.

Delores Richardson sued Charles Lee Farris, Jr. for the death of Ashley Richardson in the Harris County 55th District Court. The suit, filed on Jan. 4, claims that Farris “brutally” shot and killed the younger Richardson at his mother’s house on Nov. 15, 2016.

Prior to the incident, the original petition states, Farris engaged in “some type of” dispute with the decedent. He left the residence and later returned to attack the plaintiff’s daughter, the complaint says.

Delores Richardson alleges that Farris had been convicted of a prior violent offense at the time of her daughter’s death. Farris is currently incarcerated at the Harris County Jail.

His mother, Lillie M. Parker, is a co-defendant in the case.

Consequently, Delores Richardson seeks unspecified monetary damages.

She is represented by attorney Troy J. Wilson of Richmond.
