GALVESTON — Three Brazoria County workers are suing their employer, alleging violation of workers compensation acts in failing to pay overtime.
Sean Bates, Charles Gary Jones and Mike Kahl filed a lawsuit Dec. 12 in the Galveston Division of the Southern District of Texas against The Global Edge Consultants LLC, alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
According to the complaint, Bates, Jones and Kahl regularly worked as safety representatives/specialists more than 40 hours per week without receiving overtime compensation at the rate of one and one-half times their regular rate for hours worked as required by FLSA.
The plaintiffs seek trial by jury, unpaid overtime wages, liquidated damages, attorney fees, court costs and all other relief required by law. They are represented by attorney Clark Woodson III of Angleton.
