BEAUMONT — A former Jefferson County resident is suing Harley-Davidson, alleging unlawful employment practices.
Kelley Leger filed a lawsuit Dec. 28 in the Beaumont Division of the Eastern District of Texas against Cowboy Motorsports of Beaumont LP, also known as Harley-Davidson of Beaumont, alleging violation of the Age Discrimination in Employment Act and the Texas Commission on Human Rights Act.
According to the complaint, as a result of her termination, Leger, 55, has suffered and will continue to suffer lost wages and benefits and emotional and physical pain until the court grants relief. The plaintiff alleges Harley-Davidson of Beaumont unlawfully terminated her employment and failed and refused to consider, assist or place her in another job within the company due to her age.
Leger seeks trial by jury, compensatory and liquidated damages, attorney fees, court cost and expenses, pre- and post-judgment interest and all other proper relief. She is represented by attorneys Melissa Moore and Rochelle Owens of Moore & Associates in Houston.
