HOUSTON — A Houston corporation is suing True ERP, Inc., a software support provider, citing alleged deceptive trade practices.
Federal Wage and Labor Law Institute filed a complaint on Jan. 9 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against True ERP, alleging that the software support provider violated the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges it suffered economic damages for purchasing purchasing software that does not work as promised and for having to hiring an in-house accountant to keep its business running. The plaintiff holds True ERP responsible because the company allegedly fraudulently advertised goods and services without intent to sell them as advertised and did not provide the software support it promised.
Federal Wage and Labor Law Institute requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant for actual damages in the amount of $125,000, consequential damages in the amount of $40,000, attorneys’ fees, costs of court and such other and further relief.
