HOUSTON — A worker is suing her employers, alleging unpaid wages.

Julie Jones filed a complaint Jan. 19 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Hill, Long & Co PC, Jerry R. Hill, Dennis K. Long and Mary Gillespie, alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, until May 13, 2016, Jones consistently worked more than 40 hours per week for the defendants but was not paid required overtime wages. As a result, the suit says, Jones suffered a loss of wages of at least $20,478.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants showed reckless disregard for her in failing to pay the plaintiff minimum wage, overtime and other amounts as required by FLSA.

Jones seeks trial by jury, unpaid back wages at the applicable overtime rate, all costs incurred and all further relief the court deems equitable. She is represented by attorney Kevin M. Madden of Law Offices of Kevin Michael Madden PLLC in Houston.
