HOUSTON — A Harris County welder is suing an employer and a facility owner, alleging their negligence led to injuries for the plaintiff.

Crespin Hernandez filed a complaint Jan. 31 in Harris County District Court against Global Welding Service Inc. and ZXP Technologies Ltd., alleging they failed to provide a safe place to work.

According to the complaint, on Nov. 9, 2015, while employed by Global, Hernandez was working at ZXP's facility on East Wallisville Road in Highland. The suit says he was instructed by his supervisor to operate a crane.

As Herandez attempted to maneuver the crane down a narrow path, the lawsuit states, the crane collided with one of the poles supporting the canopy. Before the plaintiff could stop the crane, the suit says, his left arm became caught on one of the poles causing him to sustain injuries that resulted in physical and mental pain, disability and loss of earnings.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to provide a safe and proper equipment for the task and failed to properly train workers and supervise the operation at the site.

Hernandez seeks trial by jury, monetary relief of more than $1 million and all other equitable relief. He is represented by attorney Muhammad S. Aziz of Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Sorrels, Agosto & Aziz in Houston.
