HOUSTON — A Harris County woman is suing a parking garage operator, alleging age discrimination and hostile work environment.

Anita Harrison of Houston filed a complaint Feb. 10 in Harris County Circuit Court against Republic Parking System, alleging failure to protect an employee from unfair treatment in the workplace.

According to the complaint, Harrison filed a complaint against her supervisor, Carlos Minor, and informed her bosses and HR specialist about the different events that happened in the workplace where she experienced hostile treatment.

The suit says Harrison was mocked because of her age and was least favored to be given extra hours of work and a better working shift. As a result, the lawsuit states, she suffered pain, lost wages, benefits and medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges Republic Parking failed to uphold equal treatment to all employees, failed to take action on the plaintiff's complaint and failed to protect Harrison against retaliation.

Harrison seeks trial by jury, monetary relief up to $150,000, including damages, penalties, court costs and all other proper relief. She is representing herself.
