HOUSTON — A Conroe woman is suing her ex-husband, alleging negligence in failing to protect their daughter.

Ashley Gordon, individually, and as representative of minor Liliana Elizabeth Gordon, deceased, filed a complaint Feb. 10 in Harris County Circuit Court against Aaron Gordon, alleging her ex-husband failed to monitor their daughter who fell into the pool and died.

According to the complaint, on Dec. 24, 2016, while visiting her father's home in Deer Park, Liliana Gordon entered the back yard unsupervised by way of an oversized and unlocked dog entrance to the back of the home. The suit says she fell into the pool and was found approximately 25 minutes later.

The lawsuit states Gordon was unable to be revived by medical personnel and died. The plaintiff alleges Aaron Gordon failed to monitor and supervise Lilliana Gordon, failed to lock/secure the dog entrance and failed to guard the pool so as to prevent unintended entry into the pool by the toddler.

Ashley Gordon seeks trial by jury, damages, plus costs of court, interest at the legal rate, pre- and post-judgment and all other equitable and just relief. She is represented by attorney Russell S. Briggs of Fibich, Leebron, Copeland, Briggs and Josephson, LLP in Houston.
