Visitor blames apartment complex owners for injuries

Slip01

GALVESTON — A Galveston County woman is suing League City apartment complex owners, alleging their negligence caused injuries to the plaintiff.

Miriam Murray filed a complaint March 16 in Galveston County District Court against HZ Signature Point LLC, doing business as Signature Point Apartments, and Mission Rock Residential Texas LLC, alleging they failed to maintain their premises to avoid injuries and damages to invitees.

According to the complaint, on May 30, 2015, Murray sustained injuries when she was walking out of the defendants' apartment complex driveway at 1 Signature Point Drive, League City. Murray said she slipped and fell on slick mud that had been allowed to spill out over the curb from the complex's landscaped flower beds.

As a result, Murray says she suffered physical injuries, loss of earnings and incurred medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to properly maintain the premises in a safe manner, failed to exercise caution and failed to provide warning.

Murray seeks trial by jury, all actual damages, pre- and post-judgment interest, costs of court and all other just relief. She is represented by attorney Loren G. Klitsas of Klitsas and Vercher, PC in Houston.
