Visitor blames health care facility for injuries

Slip02

HOUSTON — A Harris County woman is suing a Houston health care facility property owner and maintenance provider, alleging their negligence caused her injuries.

Jennifer Ramirez filed a complaint April 28 in Harris County District Court against Memorial Hermann Healthcare System and CBRE Inc., alleging they failed to maintain the premises in a reasonably safe condition.

According to the complaint, on Jan. 31, Ramirez was at the business center owned and maintained by defendants when she slipped and fell on a liquid on the floor. The suit says she suffered substantial injuries and damages, medical expenses, pain and suffering and lost wages.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants negligently maintained the premises in a dangerous state and failed to warn Ramirez of the existence of such a dangerous condition.

Ramirez seeks trial by jury, monetary relief of more than $1 million and all other just and proper relief. She is represented by attorneys Michael S. Tilton and John A. Caston of Tilton & Tilton LLP in Houston.
