Two customers blame tire dealer for theft

HOUSTON — A Houston couple is suing Discount Tire, alleging insufficient measures were taken to prevent the plaintiffs' property from being stolen.

Tammy Chandler and Ricky Chandler filed a complaint May 1 in Galveston County District Court against Discount Tire Inc.doing business as Discount Tire Company and Discount Tire Direct Inc., alleging failure to ensure the safety of the plaintiffs' vehicle after completion of the contracted work.

According to the complaint, on May 18, 2016, the Chandlers' truck suffered significant damage and they lost a significant amount of personal property as a result of a theft at the defendant's Houston facility. The plaintiffs allege the defendant failed to protect properties while under its custody and failed to reimburse the plaintiffs for damages and lost of personal property.

The Chandlers seek trial by jury, monetary relief up to $100,000 and all other equitable relief. They are represented by attorneys Reese W. Baker and Ryan Lott of Baker & Associates LLP in Houston.
