Tenant accuses Houston apartment owner of negligence

HOUSTON — A tenant is suing the owner and manager of a Houston apartment complex, alleging negligence in maintenance of the premises led to injuries.

Dilcye Grisson filed a complaint May 4 in Harris County Circuit Court against Fairfield Towne Lake LLC, doing business as Town Lake Apartments, Yardi Systems Inc. and FF Properties LP, doing business as Fairfield Properties, alleging failure to exercise reasonable care to reduce or eliminate the risk of harm to invitees.

According to the complaint, on May 18, 2015, while walking on a stairwell at Timber Creek Place, Grisson fell due to a broken board on the landing and sustained injuries. Grisson says she has suffered physical injuries, lost of wages and incurred medical expenses. 

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to inspect the premises so it could warn invitees or make safe dangerous condition.

Grisson seeks trial by jury, monetary relief between $100,000 and $200,000, plus pre- and post-judgment interest, cost of court and all other just relief. She is represented by attorney Robert M. Meador of Rad Law Firm in Dallas.
