HOUSTON — A website host is suing a lender, citing alleged breach of agreement, theft and conversion.
Lionize Media Group LLC filed a complaint May 31 in the Harris County District Court against Richard Chiang alleging he wrongfully converted the plaintiff's funds for his own benefit.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in connection with the plaintiff's business, the defendant agreed to finance its purchases from a vendor using his credit card. As a result of defendant's breach, the plaintiff claims it suffered damages in an amount of not less than $80,000 for paying twice for the same services.
The plaintiff holds Richard Chiang responsible because the defendant allegedly filed a false dispute with his credit card company asserting that the plaintiff's purchases were not authorized and failed to refund the plaintiff's money.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment for all damages, pre- and post-judgment interest, attorney's fees, costs and such other equitable and just relief. He is represented by Jennifer G. Black of JGBLaw PC in Houston.
