Car accident 04

BEAUMONT — A motorist is suing two other drivers, alleging their negligence caused a crash that injured the plaintiff.

Sarah Laufluer filed a complaint May 26 in Jefferson County District Court against Rex Ellis and Jose Chapa, alleging they breached their duty to operate a vehicle and a careful and prudent manner.

According to the complaint, on May 1, 2017, Laufleur sustained serious and permanent injuries when a car carrying Ellis an Chapa smashed into her vehicle in Orange, Texas. Laufleur says she suffered injuries, medical-related expenses, disfigurement and mental anguish as well as physical impairment and disfigurment.

The plaintiff alleges Ellis and Chapa failed to yield right of way, failed to make a safe turn and failed to take evasive actions.

Laufluer seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $250,000, pre- and post-judgment interest, costs of court and all other just and proper relief. She is represented by attorney Cody A. Dishon of The Ferguson Law Firm LLP in Beaumont.
