Law firm alleges clients owe nearly $1.4 million

HOUSTON — A Chicago-based law firm with an office in Houston is suing clients, alleging breach of an agreement in failing to pay nearly $1.4 million.

Winston & Strawn LLP filed a complaint May 30 in Harris County District Court against Quinn Holtby, Katch Kan USA LLC and Katch Kan Holdings USA Inc.,alleging they failed to fulfill their obligations under a contract.

According to the complaint, Winston & Strawn provided legal services to the defendants at the highest caliber and in accordance with the contract. After the arbitration ended, the suit says, the outstanding invoices of $1,379,316.09 remain unpaid. 

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed and refused to make payment for the outstanding balance.

Winston & Strawn seeks trial by jury, monetary damages of not less than $1,379,316.09, pre- and post-judgment interest, court costs and expenses and all other lawful and equitable relief. It is represented by attorneys John R. Keville and Jason W. Billeck of Winston & Strawn in Houston.
