HOUSTON — A Kingwood woman is suing a New York lending company, alleging violation of telephone harassment statutes.

Peyton Davis filed a complaint July 3 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against The Money Source Inc., alleging violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

According to the complaint, in 2016, she began receiving calls to her cellular telephone from defendant, leading to anxiety, frustration, annoyance and harassment. The plaintiff alleges The Money Source continued to make calls using an automatic telephone dialing system even after Davis' request to cease calling her.

Davis seeks trial by jury, statutory damages of $500 for each negligent violation and treble damages for each willful violation of the act, plus all other just and proper relief. She is represented by attorney Jenny DeFrancisco of Limberg Law LLC in Wilton, Connecticut.
