HOUSTON — A Harris County woman is suing Yellow Cab and a driver, alleging gross negligence and failure to protect her from a stabbing attack.

Destiny Davis filed a complaint July 3 in Harris County District Court against Greater Houston Transportation, doing business as Yellow Cab, and Gbenga Oluwolle, alleging Yellow Cab failed to properly train its independent contract driver.

According to the complaint, on July 29, 2015, Davis was stabbed repeatedly inside the defendants' cab after Oluwolle stopped the cab and left the door open when he saw a knife-wielding assailant. Davis says she sustained stab wounds resulting in personal and disabling injuries and damages and suffered medical expenses, pain and suffering, mental anguish and loss of earnings.

The plaintiff alleges Oluwole negligently unlocked the cab, left on foot and allowed the assailant to enter the cab when Oluwole should have kept driving with the doors locked.

Davis seeks trial by jury, damages in excess of the minimum jurisdictional limits of the court, plus interest, costs of court and all other just and equitable relief. She is represented by David "Mac" McKeand of Houston.
