Customer blames convenience store operator for injuries

Slip02

HOUSTON — A Harris County woman is suing a convenience store operator, alleging gross negligence led to injuries for the plaintiff.

Irma Leticia Espinosa filed a complaint July 10 in Harris County District Court against Mola Ventures LLC and Metropole Enterprises Inc., alleging they breached their duty to maintain the premises in a reasonably safe condition.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 2, 2015, Espinosa was at Metrople's convenience store Smart Shop No. 4 in Houston. The suit says Espinosa was injured when she stepped into a hole that was covered with rug and fell.

Espinosa says she suffered personal injuries that resulted in pain and suffering, loss of earnings, medical care expenses and mental anguish. The plaintiff alleges the defendants negligently permitted the existence of a dangerous condition and failed to warn invitees of such a condition.

Espinosa seeks trial by jury, monetary relief of more than $1 million and all other equitable relief. She is represented by attorneys Ben Dominguez II and Bryan C. Nettels of Law Offices of Ben Dominguez II in Houston.
