HOUSTON — A Harris County woman is suing Houston barbecue restaurant operators, alleging negligence led to her suffering injuries.

Esther Reed filed a complaint July 13 in Harris County District Court against Larry's Bar-B-Que Hwy 290 Inc. and Larry's Bar-B-Que & Smokehouse Co., alleging they failed to maintain the premises in a reasonably safe condition.

According to the complaint, on May 8, 2016, Reed was at the defendants' restaurant on Northwest Freeway. Reed said she suffered personal injuries when she slipped and fell in food and/or debris on the floor.

The suit says she sustained injuries to her knee and other parts of the body, which caused Reed to suffer medical expenses, pain and suffering, mental anguish and disfigurement. The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to inspect, discover and remedy the existence of a dangerous condition.

Reed seeks trial by jury, monetary relief between $200,000 and $1 million and all other relief. She is represented by attorney Frank Wathen of Daspit Law Firm in Houston.
