HOUSTON – A Harris County man alleges he sustained a shoulder injury while walking a horse.

Armando Rivera filed a complaint on July 24 in the Harris County District Court against Sovereign Farm LLC alleging negligence and failure to maintain workers' compensation insurance.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Feb. 7, he sustained severe and debilitating injuries to his shoulder when the horse he was walking suddenly and without warning jerked the rope and bridle he was holding. The suit states he was diagnosed with a fractured scapula.

The plaintiff holds Sovereign Farm LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide a reasonably safe workplace and failed to ensure the horses would not pose a risk of injury.

The plaintiff seeks all damages, prejudgment interest, costs of court and any other relief to which plaintiff is entitled. He is represented by Clifford D. Peel II of Clifford D. Peel II PLLC in Houston.
