HOUSTON — A couple claims a contractor they paid failed to complete the emergency repairs on their Houston home and left a hole in the ceiling of their garage.

Manuel Ford and Yolanda Ford filed a complaint  Aug. 17 in Harris County District Court against Rneik Intl LLC alleging breach of contract and violation of the Deceptive Trade Practices Act.

According to the plaintiffs' complaint, they contracted with the defendant, through its president Roderick Fisher, on July 1, 2021, for "emergency services" including material and labor for repair and restoration of their home on Royal Shadows Drive in Houston. They allege that they paid the defendant "in light of the spirit and intent of the contract" however, the defendant failed to complete the services and left their property in "a state of disrepair."

Specifically, the plaintiffs claim there is a hole left in the ceiling of their garage which caused them to pay another construction company to make an emergency repair. The Fords further claim the defendant breached their contract by failing to complete the repairs and restoration and "engaged in false, misleading and deceptive acts" by representing the work had been performed and parts replaced.

The Fords seek monetary relief of $250,000 or less, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief. They are represented by Oscar Telfair, III of The Law Office of Oscar M. Telfair, III PC in Houston.
