HOUSTON — A woman alleges she slipped on a puddle of water at a Houston beauty supply store and suffered injuries.

Markesha Butler filed a complaint Dec. 7 in Harris County District Court against Beauty Oasis LLC doing business as Oasis Beauty Supply alleging negligence and premises liability.

According to her complaint, Butler was shopping at Oasis Beauty Supply on South Gessner Road in Houston on Nov. 1, 2021. She alleges that as she turned the corner of one of the lanes, she slipped and fell on a large puddle of water that was on the floor and suffered injuries.

Butler claims Oasis Beauty failed to warn of the dangerous condition and failed to clean up the area or eliminate the hazard. She further claims Oasis Beauty did not properly maintain their premises, instruct or direct their employees on keeping the premises safe or enforce any safety policies. Butler alleges as a result of the fall, she suffered pain, impairment, lost earnings and incurred medical care expenses.

Butler seeks monetary relief between $250,000 and $1 million, interest and all other just relief. She is represented by Abraham Garcia, Carlos Saldana and Brandon Kinard of The KGS Law Group in Houston.
