HOUSTON – A Harris County resident is suing Shu Deals in Houston, claiming that she was injured on the premises by a hazardous shoe display.

Plaintiff Sheila Ceasar filed the lawsuit in the Harris County Circuit Court against Shu Deals citing negligence and premise liability.

According to the lawsuit, Ceasar was a patron of the Shu Deals store in Houston to shop for jewelry on October 17, 2021. She claims that while she was walking on the premises, her foot became entangled in a hook sticking out of a shoe display, causing her to fall and seriously injure herself.

According to Ceasar, the defendant negligently failed to properly maintain the premises to protect the safety of its customers and failed to provide proper warning of the hazardous condition on the premises.

Ceasar claims to have sustained serious bodily injuries, which have caused her pain and suffering, mental anguish, and physical impairment, and that her injuries will impact her ability to earn income and lead a normal life. The lawsuit states that Ceasar has incurred medical expenses and will continue to require the services of medical staff to recover.

The plaintiff is seeking a judgment for damages plus interest, court costs, attorneys fees and any other relief the court deems proper. She is represented in this case by attorney Scott A. Bernstein in Houston.
