Francois J. Pastrana, Gloria P. Pastrana, and Leslie T. Nucete have filed a lawsuit against FPACP Beechnut, LLC d/b/a Focused Care at Beechnut, Focused Care Post Acute Care Partners, LLC, and Focused Post Acute Care Partners Management, LLC in the District Court of Harris County, Texas (Case No: 2024-20340). The case was filed on March 28th, 2024.

The plaintiffs allege that medical negligence led to severe injuries and the untimely death of Jose J. Pastrana. Mr. Pastrana was a paraplegic resident with progressing dementia at the Focused Care at Beechnut nursing home where he developed multiple stage 3-4 pressure ulcers due to neglect by the nursing staff.

The lawsuit claims that despite being at high risk for developing pressure ulcers and infections due to his medical conditions, necessary measures were not taken to prevent him from developing these complications. By late June 2022, Mr. Pastrana's condition had deteriorated significantly with his right hip pressure ulcer progressing into a severe wound with exposed bone.

The plaintiffs are seeking actual damages for medical negligence which they claim resulted in severe injuries and ultimately the death of Jose J. Pastrana. They are also seeking monetary relief within the jurisdictional limits of the court over $1,000,000.
