Desmon Brown sues Halliburton Energy Services for injuries sustained due to alleged reckless conduct

Desmon Brown has filed a lawsuit against Halliburton Energy Services, Inc. in the District Court of Harris County, Texas under case number 2024-25011. The case was filed on April 18, 2024 and pertains to an incident that occurred on April 22, 2023.

The plaintiff, Desmon Brown, is a Jones Act seaman and a resident of Mississippi. He was employed by Halliburton and assigned to work aboard the MV Stim Star II at the time of the incident. On April 22, 2023, he was ordered by his employer to assist in mixing chemicals in a tank which resulted in an explosion and flash fire that caused severe burns and permanent scarring to his upper body.

Halliburton Energy Services, Inc., with its principal place of business in Houston, Texas is the defendant in this case. The plaintiff alleges that Halliburton failed to warn him about the dangers associated with mixing the chemicals and did not provide him with proper protective clothing. As a result of his injuries, he has suffered physical pain, impairment, disfigurement and mental anguish. He has also lost wages and incurred significant medical expenses.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against Halliburton for their alleged reckless conduct including failure to provide a safe working environment, safe instructions and directions as well as safe and adequate equipment which directly led to his severe injuries.
