Ampco Products sued for violating the Americans with Disabilities Act

A Denton County resident is suing after allegedly experiencing discrimination while at work.

Robert Greene filed a lawsuit March 24 in the Sherman Division of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas against Ampco Products Co., citing the Americans with Disabilities Act.

The complaint states the plaintiff was hired by the defendant on Aug. 7, 2012, and was wrongfully discharged on Nov. 30, 2012.

While employed with the defendant Greene claims he experienced harassment and humiliation because of his disability, according to the complaint.

The plaintiff says he reported the incidents of harassment, but they did not stop. The complaint states even after the defendant fired the plaintiff, hostility towards the plaintiff continued.

The plaintiff alleges the defendant committed numerous violations of the Americans with Disability Act, including intentionally discriminating against Greene on the basis of his disability by unlawful harassment and allowing a hostile work environment to exist.

Greene is seeking compensatory damages, punitive damages, costs and fees.

The plaintiff is being represented in the case by David Curtis of David M. Curtis & Associates PC.
