Seeking more than $1 million in damages, a Georgia resident brought a lawsuit against his employer for alleged negligence in 2014.

Casey Thompson of Buchanan, Georgia filed against TD Enerserv of Beaumont in Jefferson County District Court on May 28, claiming liability in an April 2014 workplace incident.

According to the suit, Thompson suffered injuries on or about April 26, 2014, while involved in skimmer plant operations at a job site. The suit states that as the plaintiff was transferring fluid, he was instructed by an employee of the defendant to turn on the open top pump when it became full.

The suit states that when the pump allegedly failed to operate, Thompson asked the defendant to fix it and was told to do so himself. In his attempt to repair the pump, the equipment blew fluids and steam onto the plaintiff, resulting in burn injuries over a significant portion of his body.

The complaint cites the defendants with failure to properly maintain and service the open top pump in question and with liability for the negligent acts and/or omissions of its agents or employees in the incident.

Alleging severe damages, the plaintiff seeks over $1 million in compensation, pre- and post-judgment interest; attorney’s fees; expenses, and costs. The plaintiff is represented by John David Hart of the Law Offices of John David Hart in Fort Worth.
