Company says it was unfairly appraised

A Jefferson County company filed a complaint against the county appraisal district for alleged unfair appraisal practices.

Atrium Finance IV filed a complaint Sept. 23 in Jefferson County District Court against the Jefferson County Appraisal District, citing unlawful appraisal practices.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff's property was appraised for taxation above market value, which is in violation of state regulations, and this exaggerated appraisal value caused higher property taxes for the plaintiff.

Atrium Finance IV requests the court fix the property's appraised value in accordance with the law. The plaintiff seeks to recover court costs, attorney fees and any further relief entitled. The plaintiff is represented by attorneys Mark Hutcheson and Davig Hugin of Popp Hutcheson in Austin.
