Company seeks rent for horse barn

A property leasing company has sued a Galveston County resident for alleged breach of a rental agreement.

Graceland Rentals, a company with headquarters in Kentucky doing business in Texas, filed a lawsuit Dec. 31, 2014, in Galveston County District Court against Jennifer Nash also known as Jennifer Field, of Dickinson, alleging non-payment of monthly rent for a portable lofted barn.

According to the complaint, Nash signed a 60-month lease agreement for use of the barn Aug. 14, 2012, but defaulted and she owes an unpaid balance of $7,673.69 as of Dec. 15, 2014, plus interest at 6 percent.

Graceland Rentals seeks the unpaid balance, immediate repossession of the barn, attorney fees of at least $2,000 plus any amount required for appeals, expenses and costs.

The plaintiff is represented by attorney James W. King of Offerman & King in Beaumont.
