A Galveston County woman has sued a restaurant and its associated companies, citing injuries incurred in a 2014 fall.
Susan Armantrout filed a lawsuit March 30 in Galveston County District Court against La Brisa Mexican Grill, DATB and Wanna BA alleging damages resulting from premises liability.
According to the complaint, on Nov. 23, 2014, Armantrout was leaving La Brisa Mexican Grill, at 4001 Highway 146, Bacliff, when she fell on a wooden entryway ramp and broke her ankle. The suit states the ramp was slippery and unsafe.
The suit alleges the defendants were in breach of duty by failing to install adequate safeguards on the ramp, such as a guardrail and mats. The plaintiff cites: past and future medical expenses; physical pain and mental anguish; past and future physical impairment and disfigurement; possible surgery; and past and future loss of earning capacity.
Armantrout seeks: between $200,000 and $1 million in compensation for actual damages; pre- and post-judgment interest; attorney fees; expenses and costs. She is represented by attorney Timothy McKenna of Houston.
